Hello lovelies, Killer Koast here! So recently I went to Miami and had this shot taken of me. The view of South Beach was absolutely breathtaking, as so was the heat (literally thought I was gonna die from thirst). This day was full of adventure. I paddle boarded, went canoeing, jumped in a lake, and walked the boardwalk of Miami. I would like to take some time to say, enjoy where you live and all of its beauty. Be active, go on adventures, and try new things. Now that I have a car, I have the opportunity to travel around South Florida and explore the beauty of my home. There are no limitations in happiness and what brings me the most, is discovering new places and living in the moment. Regardless of where you are, discover whats out there and find what makes you happy. I hope you all have a great September and enjoy more of whats around you.
Ever get tired of your same old makeup routine? I do and that’s why I decided to splurge on some Benefit Cosmetics! I’ve seen this brand used in many makeup tutorials and decided to add some spice into my daily makeup rituals. I decided to indulge in their Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Sunscreen Makeup and Hoola Matte Bronzer and am now dying to try more products from their line. From one curious girl to another, I will share with you my review on these special picks!
This is their Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Sunscreen Makeup, or otherwise known as foundation/tinted moisturize. I was originally using Maybelline’s BB cream and was getting pretty bored of it. I did some research in hope of finding a foundation worth my spending and came across Benefit. After one use, I felt like my face was thanking me. The great thing about this product is that its oil-free! So say good bye to oily makeup that clogs your pores, this lightweight long-wear even has broad spectrum spf 25. I mean, how more amazing could this thing be? Well, it comes with a free sample of their 15-Hour Stay Flawless Primer. It gives your a skin an even complexion, sun protection, and hydrated skin. One thing though, this product is very runny, hence its lightweight coverage, so a little tap on the pump is all you need. Other than that, I won’t be getting tired of this product any time soon.
Bronzers and I always have a hard time getting along, literally. I can never find a bronzer that benefits me or my complexion. A lot of bronzers I’ve come across have sparkles, are too orange, or don’t last very long. After seeing so many good reviews on Benefit’s Hoola Matte Bronzer, I headed my way over to Sephora. When I tested the sample, I was sold the second it touched my skin. I now use this bronzer to give my skin some needed color, but mostly for contouring. The only downfall of this cute, compact box is that it doesn’t come with a whole lot of product, so you have to make every application count. But besides that, it leaves your skin with a nice warm tone that just gives your look life.
If you give these babies a try, I hope you love them as much as I do! If you know anymore of their products, let me know so I can give them a try.
Hey everyone! For those of you going back to school, I hope you all have a great week in adjusting to your new schedules. However, I’m writing this post to my fellow readers to apologize for being MIA these past couple of months. This summer has been crazy and I decided to take some time to catch up with my personal life. A lot of happened this summer, along with dramatic changes. But now that school is back in session and that I’ve discovered the path that’s best for me, I will be back to writing weekly posts again. So stay tuned this week!
Hey everyone! So I went shopping a few days ago for my mom’s birthday and since it was my day off, I thought I’d dress up for myself and try to be cute (since I wear work clothes 5x a week). I paired black ripped jeans with a grey crop-top and gave the look a more boho vibe with a matching black kimono and a silver necklace. I finished this casual edgy boho style with black leather espadrilles that aren’t photographed. Overall, I loved this look and of course, nothings cooler than wearing all black during summer.

Music festivals that embrace free spirit and boho fashion don’t always take place in the west coast. This weekend in New York’s Randall’s Island, Governors Ball Music Festival brought the east coast to life where artists like Drake, Lana Del Rey, SBTRKT, and Flying Lotus performed. With obvious concert trends like flower crowns and crop tops, I’ve put together some staples from Governors Ball street style. Try these looks on your own or use them as inspiration for the next time your side of town has a music festival you can’t pass, enjoy!
Spotted at Governor Ball this year, backpacks and bucket hats. Instead of choosing a traditional purse, swap it instead with a leather or metallic backpack! Also, kick up your look with no ordinary boho hat, but a bucket hat for a more “sicker than your average” vibe.
Love this look? Me too! Easy to recreate, this stylish look is perfect for any indoor or outdoor concert. The layered outfit topped with a killer leather jacket makes this outfit perfectly boho with an edge.
A spotted staple this festival season on the east coast: visors! Make a statement in your outfit by adding a visor accented with an updo look and bright lips. Mix and match the tops and bottoms for a look that best suits you!
Some of the greatest performances and achievements in Broadway were celebrated last night at the 69th annual Tony Awards. While critics and viewers talk about nominations, let’s talk about Fashion! Here are some of the best looks that took last nights honor. Don’t forget to comment below and share who you thought looked superb!
From the American Ballet Therater, Misty Copeland looked stunning in a Herve Leger crisp white, geometric gown. The sleeveless bodycon gown showed that this ballerina not only knows how to do a “plie,” but also knows how to walk the red carpet in style.
Jennifer Lopez is no shocker when it comes to slaying the red carpet and always making a statement. The actress wore a navy strapless Valentino Couture dress accented with gold embellishments of shooting stars. The look was finished with red wine lips and a beautiful classic pinup updo.
Amanda Seyfried glistened with elegance as she wore an Oscar De La Renta design in metallic black and gold. The off-the-shoulder dress presented grace with a hint of edge as the gown featured a fitted bodice and flowing A-line skirt. A sleek bun and black pumps accented the look with just the right touches.
Hey everyone! Just thought I’d share with you guys my latest grabs for this month. I must say that I’m completely satisfied and obsessed with my purchases, hope you enjoy and think about picking up an item or two.
NYX Matte Blotting Paper – My face gets really oily, especially around my nose and I just needed something to carry around with me to make my face less shiny, without taking my makeup off. This little package is supper cute and leaves my face with a matte finish.
Philosophy Take A Deep Breath Energizing Oxygen Gel Cream Moisturizer – I’ve been searching for a really good moisturizer that won’t leave my face oily or shiny and suitable enough for sensitive skin. I must say that this is the best moisturizer I’ve ever used. It evens out my skin texture and color, leaves my face hydrated without being oily, and gives me fresh glow. Totally recommend this to anyone who loves to moisturize, its worth every penny!
NYX HD Concealer in CW 04 – I’m not a huge fan of concealers but I decided to buy one just to apply under my eyes. I was really skeptical about buying this, but I decided to take a chance since I’m becoming really obsessed with NYX. Let me say now that I’m so happy I bought this! It’s lightweight and leaves a beautiful matte finish that blends so well.
Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash – If you’re like me, you prefer exfoliates over cleansers any day. Just after one attempt, I have decided that will continue to buy this exfoliator because it has become a blessing to my skin. I love that its gentle enough for daily use and that the little micro exfoliates are just the right size to not dry your skin. This wash leaves your skin glowing, fresh, and it thanking you!
TREND ALERT You can never be too young to have grey or silver hair, at least with the newest trend in beauty and fashion! Leave those funky neon colors behind and say hello to the newest edition in color that’s growing popular by the second. Working in the beauty industry, I’ve seen a great amount of young people in the store wanting to dye their hair grey/silver. Beauty bloggers, celebrities and runway fashion shows, have also been spotted trending this new fashion and there’s just something about this color that’s making it worth a try. Thank you seniors for giving us young folks the latest beauty inspiration.
DIY If you’ve been wanting to try this trend, I have the formula just for you! However, the process isn’t easy as picking the color grey at your local beauty store and putting it on your hair, it requires time and lots of deep conditioning. This is what you’ll need from your local Sally Beauty Supply store:
- L’Oreal Quick Blue Bleach Packet
- 30 Salon Care Developer
- 20 Salon Care Developer
- Wella Color Charm Toner T18
- Wella Color Charm Additive 050 (not pictured)
- Bowl, Brush, Foil, and Gloves
You’ll need to bleach the desired sections of your hair with L’Oreal Quick Blue Bleach and 30 developer, you may need to do this twice depending on how dark the hair is. After bleaching, you’ll need to mix T18 and 20 developer together to get rid of brassiness and unwanted orange tones. While mixing, you’ll need to add the most important step in achieving grey/silver hair, Wella Color Charm 050. Pour a few drops into the mixture and apply to per-lightned hair and process for 15-25 minutes. And that’s it!
Summer is just around the way and with temperatures rising, too much fun in the sun can lead to dry, brittle hair. To keep my hair from looking like it crawled through a dessert, I decided to pick up these four deep conditioning treatments and am now completely obsessed! Give your hair the oasis get away it deserves with these ideally sized packets. Sufficient for more than one application, these hydrating masks have changed my hair for the better. Here’s a review along with a little secret to fulfilling healthy, hydrated strands, enjoy!
Ion Effective Care Treatment – Fortified with proteins and nourishing vitamins, this 100% vegan treatment is great for damaged, over-processed, and dehydrated hair. I use this treatment when I see that my hair is becoming damaged after over styling with heat. After leaving it in for 3-5 minutes, my hair is left silky smooth with much more strength. This is my go to treatment when I tend to over-abuse my hair with heat appliances (sorry hair). This is the most effective treatment I’ve used and have seen actual amazing results. Love!
Hair Chemist Coconut/Macadamia Deep Repair Masque – If your looking for a moisturizing mask that’s packed with natural ingredients and oils, this will be your newest obsession. Perfect for revitalizing moisture and keeping follicles nourished, both masks include jojoba, olive, and sweet almond which are essential for hair growth. After leaving it in for 5 minutes, my hair is left feeling healthier from the inside, out. I use this mask when my hair begins to look dry and I’m left with softer, manageable hair. I love that it contains natural oils and not to mention, it smells dreamy.
Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment – Free of sulfates, drying alcohol, and artificial colors, this mask replenishes moisture deprived hair with keratin and penetrating macadamia oil. This is my all-time favorite mask for keeping my hair moisturized and healthy. The delicious smell will have you ditch the rest of your products.
(For better results, apply any conditioning treatment/masks under a processing or plastic cap for 10 minutes.)
